In recent years the Diocese of Salford have introduced GIFT (Growing in Faith Together) Chaplaincy Teams. These are teams of pupils supported by the Parish Priest and adults within the school to enhance the Catholic life of the school.
The children meet regularly to reflect on their own faith and help develop a child led approach, for the school, to the first aspect of the double commandment: loving God.
In our role, we have two special role models: Saint Joseph and Saint Martin.
Saint Joseph was a person of prayer, courage, hard work and ultimately faith. Just like he encouraged and supported Jesus in living out His mission, we do the same for everyone in our school community. We seek to be open and attentive to God, following Saint Joseph, in order to be aware of the needs of others.
Saint Martin of Tours reminds us of the importance of generous acts of kindness and love as well as seeing Jesus in everyone especially the poor. His cloak is a reminder that we have an important role in protecting, looking after and developing the Catholic faith and values of our school.
