Parent and Family Support
Many families experience difficulties from time to time, and may need some extra support to help get things back on track. Early help can be fundamental in identifying any concerns or worries and ensuring that appropriate support is established quickly. We can assist with signposting to local services and referring for further support if this is required. Please speak to our Pastoral Manager, Mrs Green, should you require any information, help or advice.
The Early Help Pathway aims to give children and families having trouble at any point in their lives help, as early as possible. Effective early help works to:
- Stop problems before they happen.
- Stop current problems getting worse.
- Nurture personal strengths and skills that prepare children to live a larger life.
- Build resilience in families to access support when they need it.
Supporting children and families is all about helping them to be more resilient and able to access targeted support when they need it. The Pathway aims to bring Partners together as early as possible to combine resources to help achieve change.
The Early Help Pathway is a relationship based approach using systemic ideas. This means partners should work collaboratively and curiously with children, families, other professionals. Working systemically means we see families as experts on their own lives and view the partners as supporters of change. This means partners will encourage and support families in finding their own solutions.
Early Help in Calderdale ensures children and families receive the right support at the right time in order for them to grow up healthy, safe and successful.
The Early Help Pathway is Calderdale's way of make sure you get the right support at the right time. Local services have workers who will listen to you and your children to find out what worries and difficulties you may have.
They will also want to know what is going well and what extra support you think you need. As a general rule, the information you and your family give will only be shared with your consent. It will allow the worker to contact services to support you and your family.
